Her Story

The person behind the name

Sham Tyra Nalwanga is a self-taught designer and the founder of Sham Tyra Couture and STW. A graduate of Records and Archives Management, she began with a single sewing machine.

From her Kampala atelier she dresses the country’s most recognised women. Beyond the clothes, she convenes women and conversations through It’s More and the Women’s Banquet.
